A five-star General would be higher in rank and status to all the services chiefs and the CSCS. Logically, all of them would fall under his command including a new army chief.

Another possibility could be adoption of the Central Defence Staff system as practiced in India from the time of Gen Bipen.

One more possibility could be to emulate the example of India which had promoted its army chief Manekshaw to the rank of Field Marshal to celebrate the big victory.

Pakistan intends to give a message that Pakistan has avenged its 1971 humiliation.

The Two Nation theory, which Indira Gandhi had triumphantly chortled, “it is buried in the Bay of Bengal”, has been fully revived.

Today, India is facing three directional threats from Pakistan, China and Bangladesh.

India’s seven sister states in NE India are in danger of getting amalgamated into Greater Bengal.

There have been three major wars with India, several conflicts and military standoffs.
The May 2025 conflict was unique which ended within four days with decisive results.

Hence a good cause for Pakistan to celebrate its victory, and to promote General Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal who acted as a pivot for all other portents of power.
