The Centre for Development and Stability (CDS) organized and hosted a dinner to welcome, Amr Abdullah Baabood, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of COMEX, on 21st November 2024, at the Ramada by Wyndham Islamabad in Pakistan. COMEX stands for the Information Technology and Communications Exhibition, Conference, and Awards in Oman. It’s a global technology show that showcases the latest technological advancements in Oman and the region.  Mr. Amr Abdullah Baabood, along with his delegation was received with honor and respect at the reception by Dr. Irfan Ashraf, Director General of CDS, along with the CDS team members. The delegation included Mr. Amr Abdullah Baabood, Huzaifa, Hina, and Niasha. Respected and prestigious guests attended the welcome dinner.  

 The worthy guests at welcome dinner were Mr.  Amr Abdullah Baabood, CEO of COMEX; Huzaifa; Hina; Niasha; Brig (Ret) Asif Haroon Raja, the Patron in Chief of CDS; Rehan Hasan, Director, Media Sciences at Ripha Institute of Media Sciences, Ripha International University; Hafiz Tahir, Editor of Jhang News Paper; Aziz Alvi, Editor of Nawa-e-Waqt News Paper; Tariq Chaudary, Bureau Chief at Aaj TV; Sohail Bhatti, Bureau Chief at GTV; Javed Soomro, Bureau Chief at Hum News; Zafar Hashmi, Senior Correspondent at Dunya News; Azhar Farooq, Deputy Bureau Chief of ARY News; Khalid Chaudary, Deputy Bureau Chief at Express; Kalbe Ali from DAWN News; Asad Ullah Khan, Anchor Person at 92 News; Kashif Rafiq, Anchor Person at News One; Naeem Mehboob, Bureau Chief at ABBTAK; Murtaza, Bureau Chief at AIK News; Anwar Raza, Anchor Person at Public News; and Nayyer Ali, Secretary at Press Club Islamabad.

Welcome remarks and speech delivered by the Dr. Irfan Ashraf. In his welcome remarks Dr. Ashraf welcomed Mr.  Amr Abdullah Baabood and expressed that this event symbols the beginning of an official partnership and strengthening of a bond between our two nations which is built on shared values, mutual respect, and a common vision for peace and prosperity. Dr. Ashraf extended heartfelt wishes for CEO’s good health, happiness, and great success in his mission.

This event was intended to facilitate open discussion on progress and a shared vision for a more peaceful and prosperous future. Participants also extended heartfelt wishes to Mr.  Amr Abdullah Baabood. The event was also intended to discuss the exciting opportunities that lie ahead for both countries.

Following the welcome remarks by Dr. Ashraf, Mr.  Amr Abdullah Baabood, responded with grace and dignity and presented his views thanked everyone for the warm and generous words of welcome, expressing that he was deeply honored by their hospitality that evening. He greatly valued the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the countries. He expressed confidence that their partnership would bring even greater opportunities for mutual growth and understanding in Information Technology. All esteemed guests warmly welcomed Mr.  Amr Abdullah Baabood, filled with respect and goodwill. Heartfelt gratitude was expressed. The occasion highlighted shared values and a collective commitment to future collaboration.
