Misinformation, disinformation, and fake news spread by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) controlled social media networks inside and outside the country have crossed all limits and reached alarming proportions.
A few YouTubers and Vloggers based in the US, Canada, and the UK are controlling PTI. They are hatching themes, and narratives and indulging in malicious propaganda to undermine Pakistan, to tarnish the image of the Army, and to create a wedge between the people and the Army.
They are playing with the minds of Pakistani people, politics and the Armed Forces. With their wildest and absurd conspiracy theories, they are trapping people not to trust the Army and the institutions.
Through their cheap propaganda, they have been trying to create cleavages within the army’s rank and file and also in government departments. Their poisonous snipes are aimed at creating distrust of each other within the Army and the institutions and destroying the army’s morale.

They are constantly inciting the people to disrespect law and order, to act violently and indulge in arson to create unrest and chaos, politicize the dead bodies, and blame the army.
This strategy of the dead body was fully applied on the 26th of November and it is still in play. Despite having no proof, the PTI leaders are insisting that the Army troops had fired live bullets and killed hundreds of peaceful protestors. They termed the response action as a massacre. The army chief has been held responsible for the indiscriminate firing and killings.
They refuse to see the ground situation that the Army troops had been deployed in Islamabad to protect the Red Zone and the sensitive installations and the visiting delegation of Belarus under Article 245. They had, however, not taken part in the night operation on the 26th of November. The Police backed by the Rangers had made extensive use of teargas shells, rubber bullets, and batons to push back the marauders and had not fired a single live bullet. Firing was resorted to by the armed militants hiding among the mob.
The hypnotized cult followers, instead of listening to the government, law enforcement agencies, or the Army’s version or carrying out independent investigations to find the truth, are blindly following the versions of the Washington-based PTI’s propaganda team, led by Jibran and Shahbaz Gill and assisted by Adil Raja, Moeed Pirzada, Haider Medhi, Sami Ibrahim, Shehzad Akbar, Wajahat, and a few others.

PTI’s political leaders and local media are giving a fillip to the narratives passed on to them. Although the figure has dropped to 12 or 8, so far proof of not a single dead body has been given. Tears of sorrow are being shed and funeral rites are offered over the imaginary dead on social and digital media. No complaint has been made by any victim’s family.
Fakery is used as a tool to gain the sympathies of the people and to attract the attention of the international community and the world powers that massive and unprecedented human rights abuses are taking place and that it is being done at the behest of the army chief.
While the cults are irreconcilable and incurable, so is the cult leader. He refuses to moderate his rigidity and his politics of hate, confrontation, and violence.
He refuses to recognize that his aggressiveness is harmful to the country, which is faced with multiple internal and external threats, and the economy is still in the doldrums and can ill afford political instability, insecurity, and uncertainty.
His policy of brainwashing the people through a poisonous media campaign has destroyed the whole generation and he is now playing the Pashtun card.
Patriotic people must rise to the occasion and give their wholehearted support to the security forces and the govt to defeat the triple threats of terrorism, cultism, and hybrid war.

The hired social media operators working against the integrity and reputation of the country must be snubbed, censured, and held accountable.
All those who had given bloated figures of deaths on the TV channels and in the press conferences must be taken to task.
They must be shamed by reminding them that portraying their own institution (Army) as a villain will only benefit the enemies of Pakistan.
Security forces have deployed highly sophisticated and advanced systems now. Miscreants, cultists, and media criminals can’t have a field day. Through data analytics, every activity, movement, educational data, transaction, medical state, communication, interaction, and coordination can be intelligently monitored.
The Federal Task Force under the Interior Minister is chalking out a comprehensive strategy and making plans to effectively deal with the mobsters and arsonists storming the capital city. The high-powered Force will comprise officers from ISI, MI, IB, FIA, CTD, Rangers
PEMRA and PECA laws are being suitably amended to award heavy punishments and fines to the social media activists indulging in anti-state activities, spreading fake news and videos through disinformation, poisoning the minds of the people, and fomenting chaos in the country.
Pending criminal cases registered against the 9 May culprits and now the 26 November miscreants are being expedited. Probably, the military courts will also start functioning.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his core team are actively thinking of banning PTI and imposing the Governor’s rule in KP, but PPP and JUI F are not in favor.
The Formation Commanders Conference presided by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) was held yesterday on 4 Dec.
The Forum conducted a comprehensive analysis of ongoing counterterrorism operations and resolved to continue neutralizing terrorists, their facilitators, and abettors working at the behest of hostile forces to destabilize Pakistan, with heightened focus on operations against terrorists operating inside Balochistan including BLA Majeed Brigade.
The Forum noted with concern the malicious propaganda done in the aftermath of the lawful deployment of the Army in the Capital to secure key government buildings and provide a safe & secure environment for the valued visiting delegations.
It was noted that it was a pre-planned coordinated and premeditated propaganda, reflecting continuity of a sinister design by certain political elements as an attempt to drive a wedge between the public & Armed Forces and institutions of Pakistan.
General Asim Munir emphasized that this futile attempt, fueled and abetted by external players, will never be successful, In’sha’Allah (If God Wills).
