India’s intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), has developed a reputation for engaging in covert operations and psychological warfare across South Asia. Accused of meddling in the internal affairs of neighboring countries, RAW allegedly works to destabilize governments and create internal unrest to serve India’s strategic interests. From Pakistan to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka to Nepal, and even smaller nations like the Maldives, Bhutan, and the former kingdom of Sikkim, several states have experienced the disruptive influence attributed to RAW’s shadowy operations. These actions are often viewed as preparatory tactics to weaken adversaries before potential military engagement.
