India launched ‘Operation Sindhoor’ on the night of 6/7 May. IAF with 75 jets and flying 40 sorties of SU- 30, MIGs, Mirages, and Rafael jets carrying Brahmos missiles and storm shadows cruise missiles, failed to break Pakistan’s integrated air defence.
They were blinded by Pakistan’s jamming and electromagnetic warfare systems and they operated without communications.
J-10C firing PL 15Es and BVRs turned the tables, and by 01.30 a.m. The IAF had lost six prized jets, including three Rafael which broke their backs. PAF was at liberty to cause havoc, but it showed restraint.
Hundreds of Israeli supplied Heron drones fired on 8 May failed to make any effect, and 84 were shot down. PAF dominated the airspace throughout the 87 hours of air battles.
Pakistan launched Operation Bunyan Al Marsus On 10 May. Pakistan ground forces supported by PAF, Al-Fateh 1 & 2, and field artillery guns achieved superiority of strategic orientation by 10 a.m. PAF jets, missiles and drones targeted Indian military targets brutally, and there was a massive retreat of Indian air and ground forces. That was the ideal time to exploit aerial and territorial gains inside IOK, but Pakistan showed restraint. India was rescued by its western patrons.
India is paying the price of its misadventure against Pakistan and will lick its wounds for times to come. The internal situation of India has become turbulent due to multifarious problems.
Modi’s life is under threat and his political career is in doldrums.The extremist Hindus are seething with rage. They have told Modi to either teach Pakistan a lesson, or quit.
In order to salvage India’s pride which was rolled in the dust in the five-day encounter, and to save his seat, he and his lunatic BJP members, are left with no choice other than duping the Indian public that very soon the humiliation will be avenged through another misadventure. The other options of stepping up proxy war in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan, water terrorism, and disinformation war have already been intensified.
India’s jingoism is rooted in the ancient doctrine of Chanakya, Islamophobic mindset of the RSS, believing in the myth of Akhand Bharat. Arthashastra is the guidebook of every Hindu leader, which teaches, deception, deceit, dominance, coercion and opportunistic politicking.
India has been forcibly and illegally occupying Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) since 1948. Instead of giving the Kashmiris their right of self-determination, it has painted the Kashmiri freedom fighters as terrorists.
India cut Pakistan into two parts in 1971 following Chanakya’s advice of weakening the adversary internally through subversion and sabotage. India put the Kashmir issue in a cold freezer after the Simla agreement in 1972. Bilaterism was used as a ploy to delay the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
India is the biggest terrorist state in South Asia, but it has been presenting itself as a victim of terrorism since 2001, and Pakistan as an abettor. Resumption of composite dialogue was made conditional to ending terrorism.
Like in 1971, India was sure of its victory in May 2025 due to Pakistan’s internal frailties. Operation Sindhoor reflected the aggressor as a victim.
Pakistan’s superb victory on May 10 has changed the military and geopolitical dynamics of the region, and its reverberations have been felt in the whole world, particularly in occupied Gaza, in IOK, and in South Asia.
Pakistan’s military has shattered the myth that India is the unconquerable military power of South Asia, bolstered by its strategic partners – Israel and the USA.
The swift victory achieved by Pakistan in record time has reminded the world powers that wars are no longer won by sophisticated war munitions and high-tech machinery alone.
Pakistan’s forces have proved that battles against a much bigger adversary can be fought and won through unshakable faith, collective resolve, perseverance and the valor rooted in the national spirit.
Pakistan’s classic victory has saddened the western world and Israel. It was excruciatingly painful for them to see their darling and a bulwark against China going down so easily.
It was heart-rending for France, Israel and Russia to see their technologies overwhelmed by China’s technology.
Plaudits received by Pakistan and China from the world over breathtaking breakthroughs in technology and remarkable display of combat guts, have vexed them.
Israel, and western powers, eager to sell their weaponry, are constantly elbowing Modi to wage a bigger conventional war.
For the next round, Israel’s participation might be at a bigger scale, since its pride has also been wounded, and it views Pakistan as the biggest threat to its global ambitions.
Future Stance of Modi
There will be no change in the behavior of Modi and his party. They will continue to act irresponsibly and recklessly. Pakistan will continue trying to impress the world by its good behaviour and policy of restraint, vainly hoping that sense will prevail in India.
Negotiations will be delayed to allow India to complete its war preparations, and to build a new narrative. At the end of the day, it will be another exercise in futility. The core disputes would remain unresolved, since India will not budge from its demand of placing terrorism over and above all other issues.
Modi has now impetuously stated that his one point agenda for talks will be on Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
India will continue singing the mantra that India is the victim and Pakistan is the abettor of terrorism. At the same time, it is likely to recreate war hysteria after staging another false flag operation. Even the inquest of the Pahalgam incident by an impartial body will not take place.
Partisan Behavior of the West
Sympathies, cooperation and support of the US will remain tilted towards India , and Trump’s offer of mediation to resolve the Kashmir dispute will fizzle out once again.
The US-led western world will not penalise India for its recklessness and failing to abide by the ceasefire charter. It will not
reward Pakistan for its responsible behaviour, and mature and calibrated responses.
What the West had dreamed of was, Pakistan bending on its knees and begging for a ceasefire.
Imagine, what would have been the stance of India and the West, if India had achieved a decisive victory against Pakistan? India wouldn’t have agreed to ceasefire until and unless Pakistan accepted all its demands.
Instead of admonishing India for its irresponsible behaviour, and imposing sanctions, the US is frenetically arming the already over-armed India, to be able to attack Pakistan within a short time. The USA and the UK are assuring Modi that Pakistan will not be allowed to go beyond the conventional threshold.
The US is trying to flog the dead horse back to life, or is forcing a non-thirsty horse to drink water.
After receiving a thorough beating at the hands of Pakistan, India will think many times to undertake another misadventure. However, it shouldn’t lull Pakistan into complacency, and it must not lower its guards.
Pakistan is rightfully celebrating its grand victory, and has rightly recognized the services of the army chief Gen Asim Munir by promoting him to the exalted rank of a Field Marshal. It is a national tribute to a leader who stood resolute and delivered when Pakistan faced one of the most crucial challenges in its history. The tenure of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Babar has been extended.
India’s military with an 85 billion dollar annual budget fought against Pakistan’s military budget of 7.5 billion dollars. Pakistan’s tactical precision driven by a lean budget outmanoeuvred India’s huge military juggernaut within five days, proving efficiency can triumph over sheer financial might.
Pakistan’s innovative and dynamic military doctrine prevailed over India’s extravagant spending.
Pakistan military doctrine, procurement strategy, and integration of 21st century warfare technologies achieved global validation through its decisive performance.
What Should Pakistan Do?
Pakistan should shed off its policy of restraint, pacifism and good cop behavior.
It should harden its stance and should make it clear that if the world powers fail to rein in madman Modi, bent upon stopping Pakistan’s water, ruining the peace of the region, rejecting offers of peace and friendship, and provoking Pakistan to resort to nuclear option, the world must not expect from Pakistan to show one-sided restraint in the next encounter.
Pakistan must show its conventional and nuclear teeth and impress upon the world that if pushed against the wall, Pakistan will go to any extent to safeguard its sovereignty, integrity and independence.
In the meanwhile, Pakistan armed forces must make preparations for the next round in real earnest, and in close coordination with China to spring another surprise.
The current tempo of the warrior spirit of the three military services and the high spirit of the nation must be maintained.
The induction of China’s J- 35A stealth jet fighters in the inventory of PAF has decisively swung the air balance in favour of Pakistan. It outclasses Rafael, SU-30 and future F- 35 jet fighters.
China has made foolproof arrangements for the protection of CPEC with the help of an iron shield.
Pak Navy has indigenously built a new sophisticated Jinnah naval warship equipped with super missiles and cutting edge equipment, which had made Pakistan’s seacoast and EEZ much safer.
Pakistan after soundly thrashing India, has now rightly shifted its emphasis to eliminate the scourge of terrorism in Baluchistan and KP, wholly sponsored by India. This will insha’Allah be Pakistan’s second big victory and India’s second defeat.
Thankfully, Afghanistan has come on board, which is another bad news for India. Iran is likely to follow the example of Afghanistan.
If India refuses to mend its ways and pursues its jingoistic and war-like policies including proxy war and water terrorism, Pakistan should then seize illegally occupied J&K from India and take control of all the six rivers. China is the 4th stakeholder in J&K.
China and Bangladesh have their own scores to settle with India and have prepared their battle plans.
Last but not the least, Pakistan must continue with its reform and development agenda to further improve the economy and to make Pakistan economically self-reliant. All those working against the interests of Pakistan at the behest of external enemies must be made accountable.
