Pakistan and China Celebrate 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations— A Relationship Shaped by Trust, Solidarity, and Shared Progress

People’s Republic of China and Islamic Republic of Pakistan proudly commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. It marks a historic milestone in one of the world’s most enduring and trusted bilateral partnerships. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties on 21 May 1951, relations between the two countries have evolved into an All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, rooted in mutual trust, unwavering support, and shared aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity.

Over the past seven and a half decades, Pakistan and China have consistently stood by one another during periods of regional uncertainty and geopolitical transformation. Their friendship often described as higher than the mountains, deeper than the oceans, and sweeter than honey has surpassed conventional diplomacy. Both states enjoy enduring interstate cooperation.

For Pakistan, 75 years of relations with China hold immense importance. Over the decades, China has remained a steadfast and reliable partner of Pakistan, standing by the country during critical moments of regional and global challenges. Policymakers and analysts have also highlighted China’s steadfast support to Pakistan during challenging regional circumstances, including its diplomatic engagement and strategic support during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos (a solid wall of lead). Subsequently, Pakistan’s global diplomatic posture strengthened.

The professional competence and operational excellence of the Pakistan Armed Forces have also contributed to reinforcing the country’s overall strategic credibility. And this fact has widely recognized in international discourse.
